What do I need to know about volunteering?
Anyone can volunteer. We can't stress enough how easy it is to show God's love. If you know how to smile, you can be a blessing to the lonely and forgotten elderly. It's that simple ! And we will teach you what God has taught us!
Why should I volunteer? Have you ever had a family member or loved one go into a facility like this ? Will you yourself be there someday ? Could you imagine being dependent on a facility (essentially strangers) for your daily needs and spending days, months maybe even years without a visit from anyone?
Do you really want to experience joy in your life? We can promise you that using your time and talents, whatever they may be, will not only be a joy to others but will be a joy in your life as well. With the busy demands of daily life, all we require is 2 hours a month to be a full fledged volunteer! Can you spare two hours of your time for Jesus?
Read the following scriptures:
James says : "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." and also "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, ........."
James also says: "faith without works is dead"
Mark 6:34: “And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd.” These are truly sheep without a shepherd !
Also, in John 21:17, Jesus asks Peter "Do you love Me?" Peter answers "Lord, You know I do." Jesus answers "Feed MY sheep!"
You DON'T have to go to a foreign country, and spend much money to travel. You are needed right here in your own community!!
Why here? Why this ?
1) These folks get NO church because they can't go to the church building anymore. And they are dying, many without Christ ! Some are not there the next time we go, they have passed away. We have seen this many times.
2) They feel alone and in many cases, frightened. A survey taken shows that 85% of seniors in Senior Facilities do not get one visit a year, not even family or friends. I have confirmed this with a supervisor in one of our facilities.
3) Many NEVER learned the promises of the Lord like: "I will never leave you or forsake you". And His "eternal" promises: “In My Father’s house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am, there you may also be. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also”. Eternal security !!
4) They NEED someone to pray with them and for them, and show them the love of Christ.
How much time? 2 hours a month !! One hour each first and third Sunday

Matt 10:42 (NLT), Jesus Himself said: “And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of My followers, you will surely be rewarded."
